The Commissioner of Education informed Superintendents in a call today that online learning has been extended until May 1.  Plans will be evaluated after that date as to the rest of the school year.

The Governor and Commissioner of Education called Superintendents about 30 minutes ago to report that schools are to be closed for two weeks.

This means we will have spring break as planned next week and students will not come to school the week of March 23rd.  They will return on Monday, March 30th. It has not been determined if the week of March 23rd will be a work week for teachers.  That decision will depend on whether the school days are waived. If waived, teachers will report to work the week of March 23rd to work on instruction. If we must make up the days, teachers will not work that week.

Employees who are scheduled to work Spring Break should report to work as scheduled unless leave is approved. Employees who do not work Spring Break should report back on Monday, March 30th unless otherwise instructed.

All administrators will work according to their regular work calendar.

All extra curricular activities are cancelled for the next two weeks, then a decision will be made regarding the remainder of the year.

We appreciate you all and hope you have a restful spring break.  We will communicate any changes as we receive them.

Thank you,

Ken Kenworthy
