The search for the next superintendent of Okeechobee County Public Schools has begun. Mr. Ken Kenworthy submitted his letter of retirement on January 9, 2024.  He retired after serving Okeechobee County Schools for the last 35 years. Mr. Kenworthy's last day as superintendent was February 29, 2024. This webpage will evolve as the search progresses. It will include details on the search process, timeframe, meeting dates, and candidate information. Please check this page regularly for updates.

Where we are in the process

Applications are currently being accepted until midnight Friday, April 26, 2024.

At the Board meeitng on March 19, the board approved the qualities and qualifications they are looking for in applicants for the Superintendent position.  Applications will be collected from Monday, March 25 through Friday, April 26.

At the Board meeting on January 9, 2024, Dylan Tedders was named as interim superintendent as the school board conducts their search for the next superintendent.  Mr. Tedders currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Adminsitrative Services for the district.
